So far I’ve been losing weight steadily, but I have to say it was actually a relief to see the scale go up today. Although I could easily lose 30 pounds and be within an appropriate weight range, I didn’t want to see the scale just plummet completely, without any ebb and flow.
There are a lot of people out there with opinions on how to eat: pro-carb people, protein crusaders, high vegetable proponents, etc. By eating a diet that is so high in fruits and vegetables, I have been concerned over a potential loss of muscle or because I am hungry fairly often (outside of the hour or so after each meal) that I am severely undercutting the amount of calories I need which could lead to my body trying to conserve energy, reducing my metabolism, or burning my muscle instead of my fat.
I’m not a nutritionist, I’ve just poked around this thing called the internet which is a hoopla of information, contradictory information, and just plain wrong information. So now I have a head full of all sorts of ideas that may or may not be correct and that is why I am glad to see an increase on the scale. I also don’t want to see drops of 5 pounds as I feel that will be more of a sign of dehydration and losing “water weight” than real, actual fat loss.
(Side note) The insides of my mouth and the corner of my lips have been 100 percent okay for the last couple of days. To use a health buzzword… it was probably part of that whole “detox” aspect of things. I also had a few more tiny zits than normal show up, but now my face is getting more clear as a whole.
